Liverpool FC have officially unveiled on the LFC Store their brand-new home kit for the 2023/24 season, which pays homage to the legendary Bill Shankly’s last season in charge of the Reds 50 years ago.
An iconic kit reimagined, it’s a classic design in bright Liverpool red with white contrast collar and cuffs inspired by the legendary 1973/74 squad – and the re-birth of Bill Shankly’s second great team. Meanwhile, a 97 set between two eternal flames resides on the back of the collar – ensuring those who tragically lost their lives at the Hillsborough disaster are honoured and remembered. The 1973/74 season was Shankly’s 14th and final campaign as Reds boss.
Jurgen Klopp’s Reds will debut the home kit 2023/24 when they take on Aston Villa at Anfield in the Premier League on May 20.
Captain Jordan Henderson said: “The new home shirt is a classic. Given the inspiration behind the design it feels iconic and a nod to the history of this great club. We’re looking forward to wearing it at Anfield for the Villa game.”
