Liverpool FC has unveiled on the LFC Store their brand-new white and green away kit for the 2023/24 season.
The upcoming season’s fresh strip draws inspiration from the 1995/96 away shirt, which was worn during Ian Rush’s captaincy and when the highly talented Robbie Fowler was the top goalscorer. The new jersey retains the green and white quarter pattern, but adds a modern touch with a black collar and cuff. A digital effect treatment is applied, layering various shades of green such as green spark, poison green, and pine green, giving it a contemporary twist. The kit is completed with black shorts, black name and number, and white socks with a black and green trim.
As a tribute to the tragic Hillsborough disaster and in remembrance of the individuals who lost their lives, the back of the neck proudly displays the 97 emblem enclosed by the Eternal Flames. This emblem serves as a solemn reminder of the children, women, and men who were unlawfully killed during that incident.
Jurgen Klopp’s side will wear the kit for the first time in their match against Leicester at Singapore’s National Stadium on Sunday July 30.
Fowler said: “I have fond memories of the 1995/96 season because of the iconic white and green away strip and for scoring my most goals in one season. I’m a huge fan of the new fresh take on the white and green away kit.”
