Liverpool has reached an agreement to acquire japanese midfielder Wataru Endo from Stuttgart on a long-term contract. The transfer will be finalized upon receiving international clearance and the successful application for a work permit.

The Japan international is poised to become Liverpool’s third signing of the summer. Upon his arrival, Endo will don the No.3 jersey for the club, and he expresses his anticipation and excitement about embarking on this new phase of his career at Anfield.

In Stuttgart, the 30-year-old Japanese spent four seasons, played 133 matches and scored 15 goals. Before moving to Germany, Endo played for the Belgian Saint-Truiden. For the Japanese national team, a versatile football player who can play in the center of defense and in the support zone, played 50 matches and scored two goals.

Endo told: “I’m very happy right now and I’m so excited to join a big club in Liverpool.”

“It feels amazing and this is my dream. It’s always [been] a dream to play [in the] Premier League and with one of the biggest clubs in the world. It’s a dream come true for me.”

No.3 added: “It’s going to be the first time for me that I play at Anfield. I can’t wait to play at Anfield in front of Liverpool fans. I am very excited to join this club and I am looking forward to seeing you at Anfield!”
